Day 5.
September 24, 2008
The definition of foreshadowing.
Two words.
Men. Wedding.
Yes.
My somewhat accurate (but paired down) version of an IM conversation last night:
Me: So, because the parish office said that we need to figure out a guesstimate on a guest list, go ahead and get together the list of names of everyone you’d love to invite and let me know the number so we can start to figure out where we’d need to hold something like this and can start making a budget. I want a budget for the wedding before court so we don’t overspend either way.
Nick: No.
Me: No?
Nick: No.
Me: Why not?
Nick: Just take your list and multiply it by two. That’s my list.
Me: But I have more friends than you.
Nick: I’m not making a list. Talk to my mom.
Me: How much input do you want on this wedding on a scale of 1-10?
Nick: About a 2.
Me: What 2?
Nick: a ring. And showing up.
::long pause::
Me: Okay. Um. Tell your mom I’ve decided on a date, and I’ll let you know when and where to start sending checks. Oh, and when to show up. And what ring I want.
